Stacey Zis has been part of the NCHEMS team since 2006 and most recently as Director of Operations and Board Relations.
She has worked at NCHEMS as a senior consultant, senior research associate, and research associate. Prior to 2006, Stacey worked with the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education.
Stacey has a history of leadership and experience in multiple settings including K-12, postsecondary education, and not-for-profit organizations with an ability to see the “big picture” and work collaboratively toward useful solutions.
Although much of her experience is in policy analysis and research, she has a strong background and solid experience in student affairs and academic affairs administration at various institutions including Springfield College, Roanoke College, Virginia Tech, and San José State University.
Elected in 2019, Stacey Zis recently completed a four-year term on the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) school board where she did not seek re-election. She also served on the Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB) Board of Directors and Executive Committee, as the CASB representative to the State Advisory Council for Parent Involvement in Education (SACPIE), and as the CASB representative to the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA).
Stacey was recently appointed President of the newly formed CASB Foundation. She also enjoys a volunteer role with USA Hockey as an Affiliate Registrar and sits on the Boulder Hockey Club Board of Directors.
